
Kisumu County Director Governor’s Press, Aloice Ager has been elected the chairperson of the Council of Governors Counties Communication Caucus Committee.
Other three positions such as the vice chair was taken by Carol Nderi from Nyeri County, Secretary position went to Faith from Uasin Gishu County and that of the treasurer was taken by Hawa from Garisa County.

The caucus is charged with the responsibility of coordinating communication of COG’s programmes across the 47 counties. This mandate is delivered in compliance with the rules and guidelines set out by the council and in consultation with the CoG Secretariat.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Ager said that the caucus has a cardinal role in deepening the aspirations of devolution in the counties through robust communication of the success stories of devolved functions across the country.

The elections marked the climax of the 5 -day induction retreat for the County Directors of Communication and Directors Governor’s Press that was held in Sarova Whitesands Hotel in Mombasa.
The training aimed at strengthening county Government public communication and knowledge management, by ensuring Counties have robust systems and processes for identifying, capturing and sharing County knowledge, products and assets.
There was also the need to appraise the newly appointed Directors on the obligations, systems, procedures and policy regarding the County Government’s public communication to enable them to effectively discharge their mandate.
Further, there was the launch of the revamped @maarifa_centre portal a one stop shop for all matters devolution in Kenya.
The portal provides a space for peer-to-peer learning through success stories shared and even best practices that provide solutions to the devolution challenges.
While speaking during day two of the program, H.E. Wisely Rotich, the CoG Chairperson ICT and Knowledge management called on the Directors to ensure that more County transformative stories and best practices are documented on the portal.
