Kisumu Deputy Governor Dr. Mathew Owili today led World Water Day celebrations in Kajulu to enhance awareness on water catchment protection.
The county government he said was finalizing the gazettement of water catchment areas to protect them from encroachment and pollution.
“As we celebrate this day we must collectively accelerate action to manage fresh water resources through concerted efforts by the community ,local administration and sector players”,echoed the Deputy Governor.
He lauded the WASH community in Kisumu for their efforts in re-afforesting encroached catchments and ensuring residents enjoy clean, portable and affordable water.
