The Final Dissemination Meeting of the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion study (GESI) took place at the Vic hotel, organized by KEFEADO in partnership with USAID- Global Labor program inclusive futures under a coalition of partners led by sightsavers International.
The meeting aimed at sharing findings on gender and social inclusion analysis that sought to map the context against which different groups experience gender based violence, rights violations, and recommendations.
The meeting was graced by County Director for Women Youth and PWDs Mr. Junior Omondi, who welcomed the findings of the study, calling on a multisectoral approach in addressing the way forward to ensure women’s empowerment and transformational change across the county.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the relevant state and County departments, civil society, and the private sector.
The highlights of the proceedings included, an overview of the study, GESI research findings presented by Dr. Jane Lusenaka, comments from the participants on gender equality issues, gender policies and disability act, questions from the participants.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Omondi thanked the participants in the meeting for their interest in the research findings and the KEFEADO representatives for the quality of the collaboration between County government and the stakeholders in addressing gender issues.
