The City of Kisumu has designated Maendeleo Market adjacent to Khetias Supermarket around Kisumu Main Bus Park as an alternative business space to the traders who were relocated from Nguo Investment, along Gumbi Road and Maendeleo to pave the way for the ongoing restructuring and modernization of the city.
Several meetings were conducted with stakeholders to develop the best plan for the market, standardized structures to be constructed and the bonafide traders to be considered. Based on the plan, three hundred and sixty (360) traders were issued with temporary allocation offer letters authorizing them to proceed with construction work as per the design and sample structure provided by the City of Kisumu. The stalls are labeled from Block A to Block I as follows;
Block A: 21 number of stalls
Block B: 42 number of stalls
Block C: 44 number of stalls
Block D: 46 number of stalls, with 2 office stalls
Block E: 48 number of stalls
Block F: 48 number of stalls
Block G: 53 number of stalls
Block H: 52 number of stalls
Block I: 8 number of stalls
Attached herein, please find the list of beneficiaries with their specific stalls numbers.
It is therefore important to note that the spaces remain the property of the County Government of Kisumu and is not transferable to a third party and that only the traders whose names are appearing on this list should occupy the spaces, any other person found doing business at Maendeleo Market will there illegally.
