It is a milestone. The Kisumu County Executive Committee has gone Paperless.
From today, June 25, 2024, the Governor, Prof Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o, and Members of his Executive Committee will no longer carry those bulky files into Cabinet meetings.
After a day-long training on the paperless meetings, Executive committee members led by the Governor will now only be armed with computer iPads while attending Cabinet meetings.
Speaking during the training, Prof Nyong’o said paperless Cabinet meetings have come at a time when the Counties were struggling to cut costs and improve management by adopting new technologies.
“This is indeed a milestone. It will help in keeping the Boardroom security on Cabinet issues,” said Prof Nyong’o.
The Governor said paperless meetings not only reduced costs but saved administrative time.

The new development will now help to eliminate the costs of printing, mailing, and the Human resources involved in preparations for the meetings.
Using the iPads, the Executive Committee Members will follow the Cabinet calendar, post their Cabinet Memos and Papers online, and receive resolutions and approvals from the comfort of their desks. They can approve or disapprove cabinet deliberations on the Ipad.
The paperless regime will also improve the quality of Virtual Meetings and help conserve the environment by reducing the amount of waste papers.

The CECMs said the paperless system will help synchronize information through real-time updates on important Executive Committee decisions and declarations.
Some of the important features of the iPad are the icons to allow the CECMs to declare if they had any Conflicts of interest on the Agenda being presented for discussions.
