Mama Kisumu, Dorothy Nyong’o, today met women entrepreneurs at an exclusive breakfast meeting in Kisumu during which she gave them business tips and how to remain resilient during these hard times aggravated by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The breakfast meeting at Ciala Resort in the outskirts of Kisumu City was a partnership between Mrs.Nyong’o and DADA by the Stanbic Bank.
Mrs. Nyong’o told the women that their successes in business depended on how they planned and executed their business plans.
She also told them to learn how to benefit from financial support opportunities from the private sector and the County government which she said has been offering cheaper loans with very low interest rates and reasonable grace periods.
“We have to support and empower women because they are the pillars of the society. A shilling given to a woman is not lost,” said Mrs. Nyong’o
She added: “There is a popular saying that when you empower or educate a
woman, you have empowered a whole community.
She thanked the Stanbic Bank management for accepting work closely with women by giving them affordable loans.
“I sincerely thank Stanbic Bank and I believe the bank will not only give our women the financial help but also teach them how to use the finances to help change the
societies where they come from,” said Mama Kisumu.
