CEC member for health and sanitation,Dr. Rosemary Obara, this week  hosted a consultative meeting between the Council of Governor’s representative Mr. Tobias Outi for the World Bank-supported Transforming Health Systems Project (THS-UCP) and the DANIDA supporting staff to review the implementation and utilization of funds for the 2 projects established in the county health facilities.

The THS-UCP and DANIDA projects aim at improving access to quality primary care services with accountability upon the council of governors. The two projects are jointly implemented by the Ministry of Health and Council of Governors to improve utilization and quality of Primary Health Care (PHC) services with a focus on Reproductive,Maternal,New-born,Child,and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) services.

The performance review meeting addressed the utilization of funds in projects supported by the DANIDA and the world bank’s THS-UCP.  In her remarks, Dr. Obara emphasized on the need for accountability in individual county facility for effective operations and that everyone has a responsibility to go an extra mile to ensure quality in service delivery.

The CEC member also urged the team to prioritise utilization of funds by identifying key gaps that need unlocking adding that supervisory role should be included in the work plan.

Equally,Mr. Outi advised the department to utilize the allocated funds wisely inorder to attract more funding in future.
