The County Executive Committee Member for Trade, Tourism, Industry, and Marketing Ms. Farida Salim joined the USAID implementing organization – Sightsavers in a meeting that highlighted key areas of inclusion in Kisumu which included, trade, diversity, equity and accessibility.
The meeting also shared a brief on the global labour Program and the purpose of the USAID visit to the County as well as discussed areas of collaboration and focus areas for Kisumu.
USAID gave a key message on the Global Labor Program mandate in Kisumu County and its intervention progress to date with USAID’s role in the diversity agenda.
The team from Washington US was led by USAID’s Chief Diversity Officer Madam Neneh Diallo based in the office of the Administrator in Washington DC.
Other participants included Sightsavers, United Disabled Persons of Kenya, Kenya Female Advisory Organisation, and USAID staff.
Also present were Chief Officer for Education, Mr. Daniel Okutah among other county officials.
