World Talent Federation through its Vice President Dr. Peter Smith has this morning declared and confirmed Kisumu as the first African City to host the prestigious biennial World Talent Conference from 25th – 29th August 2025.

This is the first time an intermediary city in Africa is going to host the global event since 1975. Dubbed the World Safari Conference, the historic event is set to attract more than 15,000 world delegates and portents the arrival of top world leaders to grace the auspicious occasion.
The announcement was made this morning when the delegation from the World Talent Federation called on Kisumu Governor H.E. Prof Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o at his City Hall Office.
While receiving the official plaque for the hosting rights, Kisumu Governor Prof. Nyong’o accompanied by Mama Kisumu Dorothy Nyong’o extended a warm welcome to the delegation revealing that Kisumu is ready to host the prestigious event.
“We have the capacity and the confidence. Two years ago we became the first intermediary City in Africa to successfully host the 9th Africities Summit attended by over 13,000 delegates”. He said.
Nyong’o expressed that Kisumu, Kenya and Africa must prepare to receive the top World and African athletes, footballers, film actors, musicians, artists and many more adding that the success of the event will require the collaboration of counties within the Lake Region Economic Bloc.

Additionally, Nyong’o acknowledged it is time to start marketing Kisumu as a main World destination in August 2025 and encourage safaris to Kisumu in readiness for the conference.
Already, a renowned in-form Premier League footballer has indicated interest in attending the occasion. Other top pop musicians proud to be associated with their motherland Africa, have also expressed their interest in joining the event according to the Governor.
The Vice President on his part noted that through the conference, Kisumu can be a model that shows the world the way to go.
“Kisumu can be an example of the global village extended where humanity can come together, breathe cleaner, live freely and in peace”. Smith said adding the conference is set to transcend, and propel further so that the World gets further.

During the conference, Researchers will have the chance to showcase their thought-provoking or revolutionary designs, merchandises or systems that would help the Talent Assessments and related Talent Based Learning/ Education. New technologies geared toward advancement of talent and talent based learning will also be unveiled at the event. One such technology is the Anthropo- Biometric Methods that has been used to predict many things in humans including careers and learning. The method provides Professional and Scientific Assessment of Gifts and Talents in people and help in not just mapping out careers but also help them have individual and specific Talent Prescriptions. The main outcome is that you can predict the career of 4-6 year old some 20-30 years in advance and with obvious, numerous benefits to the learner, parent and country as a whole.
The assessments are done at World Talent Federation Approved Talent Clinics and Kenya is privileged to house six of such clinics in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret and Meru that act as one stop locations where special Anthropo-Biometric Kits are installed and linked to the International Database of Talent.
Kisumu won the bid to host the conference after a competitive bidding exercise beating other world cities including Nairobi. Led by H.E Governor, the County Government of Kisumu presented an elaborate position showcasing the County’s deep culture and natural heritage and its position as the heart of real talent in the region.
The Secretary General Prof. Humphrey Obora who also hails from Kisumu was excited that Kisumu County led by the Governor is equally excited, proud and totally willing to ensure that Kisumu delivers a memorable event. He noted it is important to spread the word far and wide and challenged the leadership to strategize on formation of long lasting partnerships and collaborations with the international community that will ensure that Kisumu becomes the real capital city of the East African Community.
In May this year, Kisumu will be hosting the World during this year’s African Festival of Arts and Culture (FESTAC) and will more or less be a curtain raiser to the Talent Conference.
Joining the Governor during the discussions were Members of his Cabinet Beatrice Odongo, Farida Salim, Judith Oluoch and Kennedy Hongo among other County Officials.
Others World Talent Federation Officials joining the Vice President were Mr. Dennis Chantler (Treasurer) and Dr. Victor Langenberg (International Liaison), Prof. Humphrey Oborah (Secretary General) and Prof. PLO Lumumba (Africa Talent Envoy).
