Promoting Co- designed Sustainable Health Interventions with Changemakers for Reduced Risk of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in Kenya, Burkina Faso and Tanzania is a project that targets the adolescents as young Changemakers by embracing a positive mindset, eating a nutritious diet and engaging in physical activities at a tender age with a view of reducing non – communicable diseases.
The adolescents are key in this project since they can be dependable agents of change among their peers and in the community at large.
Previously, the project has engaged the adolescents among other stakeholders like parents teachers, health officers, Ministry of Education on Co- design activities including interviews, workshops and photo voice.
The two day workshop that commenced today, provides a platform for presenting the Co- design findings from the stakeholders as a way of validating the findings, by giving feedback that would inform implementation strategies for the Changemaker project.
The project has four intervention components namely: urban farming, sustainable health module, health talks and mass media campaigns.
The project is timely to Kisumu residents as its intervention components promote good health and matters food security which are part of Governor Nyong’o’s top ten agenda as outlined in his manifesto
In Kenya, the project is implemented in Kisumu department for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Blue Economy by the and it’s funded by the European union.
