Kisumu Deputy Governor Dr.Mathew Owili today joined climate change ambassadors during the Lake Basin Region Africa Climate Summit,a side event to the Africa Climate Change Convention currently underway in Nairobi.
The Lake Basin Summit will advance talks towards scaling high impact climate change challenges and highlight bio-safety standards in investments, manufacturing, trade, blue economy along the lake basin.
According to the Deputy Governor, the county administration had already rolled out its greening initiative that seeks to reduce carbon emissions through tree planting. This is a bold step towards the attaining our vision of achieving 7% tree cover by 2027 he echoed.
