Nyong’o said during the function that he had the privilege of participating in the parliamentary deliberations towards the formation of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
“I maintain that the overarching idea was to create an objective, credible institution to combat corruption in Kenya as well as educate citizens on the responsibility of nurturing a corruption-free society” he added.
He further said that fight against corruption is not the preserve of institutions alone but is a civic duty that calls for the conscientious participation of every Kenyan.
Nyong’o accepted the request saying he will be giving an opinion piece offering an overview of devolution and governance in Kenya.
“The article will situate devolution within its historical and constitutional context, reflect on its core objectives, highlight notable achievements in public service delivery, and examine the emerging governance challenges confronting county governments, giving an insider perspective,” he said.
