
Kisumu County was honored to host the Treasury and Economic Planning, Cabinet Secretary (CS), John Mbadi, flanked by Member of parliament, Seme subcounty Dr. James Nyikal, and the FLLoCA National Coordinator Peter Odhengo in Seme Subcounty.

The delegation was received by the Deputy Governor Dr.Mathews Owili, who led the team in an inspection exercise for the implementation of ongoing FLLoCA CCRI projects in Kisumu .
The CS rolled out the Awach water project in Seme sub county which is a three phased project, funded by World Bank and the national government through the FLLoCA programme at a cost of Ksh. 287 million.

The three phases include, Construction of a water intake plant, Construction of a water treatment plant with a 2,000-cubic-meter capacity and Construction of a 1,250-cubic-meter reservoir with a 17 km pipeline extension.
Once complete, the Project is expected to provide reliable water supply to over 100,000 households in North and Central Seme wards.

While addressing the residents, Hon. Mbadi emphasized the importance of the project in improving livelihoods, affirming the partnership between the national government and the county government of Kisumu in implementing the project.
Also present were CEC members, Judith Oluoch and George Okong’o, Members of the County Assembly Hon. Millicent Omuya,Hon. Samuel Dede, and Hon. George Abaja, amongst other county officials.
