
Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o has presided over the official opening of KEDA Ceramics International Miwani Factory.
KEDA (Kenya) Ceramics International Co. Ltd is the second ceramic project which is a Joint Venture incorporated in 2016 by KEDA Clean Energy and SUNDA International
With an initial investment of 50 million USD and expected to reach upto 160 million USD, the factory which is situated in Miwani ward on a 150 acres piece of land is expected to have 3 ceramics tiles, 2 sanitary ware production lines and fast moving consumer goods ( FMCG ) industrial park upon completion.
So far the plant has created over 800 direct employment opportunities with more expected to be employed and at least 3000 indirect jobs.
The plant’s tiles brand name ” Twyford ” is now available in our local stores with the excess being exported to the neighboring EAC countries.
Titles expected daily output ;×Phase 1 production 40,000 m^3, Phase 2 production 25,000m^3 and Phase 3 production of 20,000m^3. All will produce more than 30 million m^3/year.
