Kisumu County Assembly has approved the nominees to the Kisumu County Public Service Board.
During a Plenary Sitting held today, the House gave the nominees a clean bill of health, paving way for their appointment by the Governor Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o .
Contributing on the Appointment Committee’s report on the vetting of the nominees,the Members observed that the nominees met the integrity threshold; demonstrated knowledge of topical, administrative and technical issues touching on the portfolios to which they had been nominated, and had the requisite abilities, academic qualifications and professional experience to be approved for appointment as Members of the Kisumu County Public Service Board.
A section of the Members, however, observed that the list of nominees did not include any persons with disability and challenged the Governor to improve on inclusion of PWDs in his subsequent appointments.
If appointed by the Governor, Dr. James Otieno Obondi will be the new Chairperson of the County Public Service Board while Mr. Bill Otieno Omondi will be the new Board Secretary.
