Kisumu County today launched an integrated revenue management system for the unstructured revenue streams in the county set up to address concerns in revenue management and service delivery.
The team led by the CEO Revenue Board, Dr. Hezron Otieno MC’Obewa together with the CEC member for Finance Mr. George Okong’o spearheaded the soft launch for the unstructured revenue streams set for the markets, bus park, parking, CESS, stock ring, slaughter as well as clamping.
The county has contracted Safaricom as the service provider for the integrated revenue management system. The service provider noted that the new system is a modern technology that fits in with the best practices of technology in revenue management.
In Kibuye market, the traders chair chairperson Madam Judith Adhiambo Matengo welcomed the initiative noting that the Revenue officers should be vigilant to ensure record keeping and verification of the system.
he new system is expected to enhance overall revenue collection and identity all untapped streams, provide cashless payment platforms to county customers, enhance accountability and integrity in revenue management, ease administration and enforcement, to acquire real-time data for decision-making, enhance security in collection, access, transmission and banking of revenue, minimize revenue linkages, ease of revenue reporting and to ensure accuracy in revenue projections and target settings.
