Posta Kenya through the Post Master General, Mr. John Tanui, and Kisumu County gave Sh300, 000 thousand for the 9th edition of the KICOSCA games that will bring together various counties from Kenya.
A team of representatives from Posta Kenya Nyanza region, the Manager sales, Mr. Thomas Orina, and Sales Nyanza representative Hilda Ocham issued the check to the CEC Member for Sports Ms. Beatrice A. Odongo.
The team assured their support for the KICOSCA competitions in the spirit of national cohesion and promoting postal services in the region. The sponsorship will cater to the organization of the event.
“We are committed to this course and we will continue to encourage good performance in sports and culture,” says Mr. Orina.
The CEC member also distinctively assured Posta Kenya that the County Government will continue to work together to support one another, especially in gender and Youth affairs.
“It is exciting to have Posta Kenya on board as one of the key sponsors of this event; their support is instrumental as we expect thousands of fans to attend the 7 days event.” Says Ms. Odongo.
Currently, the KICOSCA 9th Edition has registered over 30 counties that have confirmed participation in the various disciplines of the competition.
Kisumu county is set to compete in the various games for both men and women including; Ajua ( Men), Athletics ,Badminton ,Basketball ), Chess, Darts, Draughts, Football(Men), Golf, Handball, Choir and Cultural Dance, Netball (Women), Pool table, Scrabble, Squash, Table Tennis, Tug-of-War and Volleyball.
