Water provision in the county has a recieved a major boost following the commissioning of a multimillion water project.

Over twelve thousand households are set to benefit from the Ogango- Kasule project following a partnership between the county government and the Water Service Trust Fund at a cost of ksh19.3 million.

Speaking during the launch, Kisumu Deputy Governor Dr.Mathew Owili lauded the developments as a game changer in addressing water shortages and enhancing pipeline extensions in low income areas.
The county government he said, would enhance collaboration with development partners to actualize the water action agenda to drive key infrastructure in the WASH sector

According to the Water Fund CEO Willis Ombai, the projects scope will operationalize two water kiosks, facilitate the installation of 100 water meters and a 3,810 meter pipeline extension in Kasule and Ogango.
Present were CEC Infrastructure & Public Works Salmon Orimba, KIWASCO Managing Director Thomas Odongo, KIWASCO Board Member Phyllis Chepkemboi among other representatives.
