
The Council of Governors has reviewed and strengthened the Performance Management Framework, resulting in the integrated Performance Management Framework, says Kisumu Governor Prof.Anyang’ Nyong’o.
Speaking during the County’s Performance Contract signing ceremony for the County Executive Committee Members and Chief Officers ,Nyong’o said that the approach deliberately links individual to departmental objectives and ultimately to country-side goals by integrating staff performance appraisal with departmental perfomance contracts.
He further said that Performance contracting is crucial for monitoring accountability, transparency and the actualization of set goals and it is not just a procedural formality but It helps set the government on its toes in delivering results on his social commitments to the people of Kisumu.
“Today, during the FY 2025/2026 Performance Contract Signing Ceremony for County Executive Committee Members, Chief Officers, Departmental Directors, the Kisumu Revenue Board and the Kisumu City Board, I reaffirm my collective dedication to accountability, discipline and results-driven leadership across the County Government”Nyong’o said.
Nyong’o also emphasized that all perfomance targets must be firmly anchored in the County’s Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) and at a broader level ,the work must contribute directly to national development priorities aligned to Kenya Vision 2030 ,the Second Medium Term Plan and the global development commitments to which Kenya is a signatory.
“The citizens of Kisumu have entrusted us with the responsibility to deliver substantial and impactful services that enhance their quality of life and such trust must be earned through demonstrable performance, not mere promises.”he further said.
Nyong’o further said that the County is establishing precise performance targets, objective evaluation methods and strategic collaborations to ensure our plans translate into actual results benefiting our residents.
“Our efforts extend beyond the act of signing documents to delivering effective services, increasing productivity, and improving the livelihoods of Kisumu’s people”he said during the ceremony.
He commended the Strategy,Policy and delivery Directorate for maintaining the necessary institutional pressure to ensure the process is undertaken every financial year in line with the Council of Governor’s Integrated County Perfomance Management Framework.
“This discipline enables my administration to objectively assess performance and to make informed decisions grounded in evidence” Nyong’o said.
