Today, 130 Persons with disabilities were excited to receive prosthetics limbs courtesy of Narayan Seva Sansthan.
The event held at the Visa Oshwal Community in Kisumu, saw artificial limbs whose measurements were taken in January during a medical camp, being fitted on the beneficiaries

Kisumu Deputy Governor, Dr. Matthew Owili who joined the partners, thanked the sponsors for the good gesture towards the people with disability.

He said, the prosthetics limbs, will not only provide mobility and functionality but also give hope and empower the recipients.
He reiterated that such interventions underscore the significance of community driven initiatives in fostering a more inclusive and supportive community.
On his part, Niyam Shah who led a team of doctors to Kisumu said while they were fitting the 130 artificial limbs, they are also taking measurements for another 300 amputees and PWDs to be fitted in November this year.

He added that with the artificial limbs, the beneficiaries can move and work almost at 99%.
According to the Governor ‘s advisor on matters PWDs, Madam Carolyne Agwanda, the County government is committed to ensure all PWDs are catered for.
Appreciating the partnerships with the private sector, Madam Carolyne admits the support has aided the PWDs to move easily and work independently.

Mr. Michael Odero a beneficiary, said he was happy to get an artificial leg and can now walk and play football.
Mr. John Kennedy thanked the County government together with Narayan Seva Sansthan for giving him a prosthetic arm. He confirmed he can now balance and walk in good posture. He also urged those who received prosthetic arm to be productive.
