This week, Kisumu plaid host to a series of consultative meetings in preparation for the 9th edition of the KICOSCA games to be held starting 15th through to the 21st of January 2023 in Kisumu.
The KICOSCA National Executive Council, which brought together representatives from various county governments, held a 4 days meeting set to spearhead plans towards the Intercountry games. The preparations include the identification of sporting amenities and accommodation as well as making decisions on documentation requirements for the players.
To date, 30 counties have confirmed participation in the 9th edition KICOSCA games that is set to kick off in 2023 after a one-year break. The council urged the participating counties to prepare adequately for the games.
The CEC member for sports Ms. Beatrice Odongo affirmed that all the arrangements are on course to ensure the success of the event. She also called on collaboration between the NEC and the local committee, even as the County lays ground for KICOSCA.
The local committee led by the County Secretary Mr. John Auma held a similar meeting with planned visits to the venues. The County Secretary oversees the preparations of venues and institutions that will accommodate participants from various counties.
