
The County government of Kisumu in collaboration with FAO- Kenya through the Urban Food Systems project organised a three day training as from 26th to 30th August, 2021, to 30 farmers of Kotieno group in Kobura Ward, Nyando Sub county.
The aim of the training is to equip the farmers with technical skills in poultry husbandry, entrepreneurship and business skills that will enable them convert their produce to income.
The selected farmers are set to benefit from day old chicks and feeds come the month of September, 2021 under the Covid – 19 response action.
The trainings focused on poultry housing, brooder establishment, feeds, feeding, poultry disease control and management, waste management, entrepreneurship and business skills.
