The County directorate of Gender in partnership with the commonwealth held a two-day sensitization training of its social workers and the enforcement officers on institutional gender mainstreaming and capacity building at Mama Grace Onyango Social Centre
The sensitization was organized following a social harassment audit against middle staff, Managers, junior staff and policymakers in the county.
The training was done in line with the forthcoming sexual harassment policy for Kisumu County Government which is aimed at establishing and maintaining a working environment free from sexual harassment, promoting respectful and professional conduct among employees.
The sensitization workshop also sought to enable staff to familiarize themselves with the provisions of the sexual harassment policy, refrain from engaging in any form of sexual harassment and to cooperate with investigations and disciplinary proceedings as required.
The training was graced by the county Director for Culture and Gender, Ms. Nancy Wasama.
