Kisumu City Manager Michael Abala Wanga, together with CECM for Finance George Okong’o and Dr. Charles K’onyango of Lands, Housing, Physical Planning, and Urban Development, launched Kisumu County’s Revenue Optimization Strategy in Maseno.
The framework focuses on improving efficiency, accountability, and the use of technology in revenue collection.
Key measures include: property data documentation, performance-based tracking of revenue officers, joint enforcement with planners, drone surveillance to monitor new developments, and regular progress reviews.
These reforms will make Kisumu’s revenue system more transparent, data-driven, and sustainable, ensuring that every shilling collected supports better services for the citizenry of Kisumu County.
