Kisumu County DG. Dr. Mathews Owili is calling up the national government to move in swiftly and ensure peace and normalcy are restored within Jimo East in North Nyakach Ward within Nyakach Sub-County.

He spoke during his visit to the affected families and later presided over a leaders baraza, which was attended by the local leadership together with Kisumu County Commissioner Hussein Alanson and his County Security team.
“The attacks has resulted into deaths, destructions of properties and displacement if families,”he lamented.

He assured the victims that the county government would waiver all medical bills and extend their assistance to the bereaved families.
County Governor Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o had earlier issued a press release appealing to the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) to immediately move into the conflict area to help restore peace and find a lasting solution to the perennial conflict.
“The national government must have received intelligence about the looming fights and would have just nipped it in the bud,” he added.

Last Thursday night, perpetrators raided and stole a number of cattle from their neighboring community, prompting the luos to stage a protest along Tol Anti-Stock Theft Unit on Friday.
The area MCA Tom Nyaoke attended the function.
