
Poultry farmers in Kisumu received bags of chick feeds and an assortment of poultry equipment last Friday at the Kisumu East Agriculture Sub County Office.

The equipment include: chicken feeding tray, drinkers, feeders, syringes, dropers, disinfectants, gloves, dewormers, multi vitamin, ply wood sheets and automated drinkers and pipes. While the feeds comprised chick mash and growers’ mash.
The equipment will be used to establish centres of excellence for each of the 13 poultry Farmer Business Schools in Kisumu County.

While presiding over the handing over of the feeds and equipment to the farmers, Mr. David Makongo the FAO Agri business Coordinator said the established Farmer Business schools will go along way in enabling farmers learn best practices in poultry keeping.
He further implored on the farmers to take care of the equipment and put them into good use since a lot of resources have been spent in the purchase of the same.
