Governor Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o meets stakeholders from Katito.

H.E Gov. Anyang’Nyong’o adresses stakeholders from Katito during a meeting at his City Hall office ahead of the towns unveiling.

Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang’Nyong’o today met stakeholders from Katito at his City Hall office ahead of the town’s unveiling next week.

The discussions centered on the preparations for the event slated for March 3, 2021. Also on the agenda was development projects that would come as a result of the town. They include health, education, social services, markets and security.

According to Governor, the county government realized the important role played by urban centers in attracting foreign and local investments.

Katito has steadily established itself as one of the fastest growing urban centers in Nyakach. The upgrade of the town will bring many goodies such as improved infrastructure, independent development budget and direct access to international donor funding.

The county government he said, was committed to completing flagship projects within Nyakach sub county.

Joining the discussions were Deputy Governor Dr. Mathew Owili, Katito MCA Rashid Miruka, Beatrice Wadiaga(Nominated), Ag. City Manager Abala Wanga among other officials.

Katito becomes the third town to be launched in Kisumu after Maseno and Ahero. Others to be unveiled are Muhoroni and Kombewa.
