After three days of competition in five ball games in the two venues, the Kisumu County Inter-Vocational Training center ball games ended Thursday with the closing ceremony.
The County Government pulled off the games bringing together all VTCs across the County to participate in the activities, which were held at the Rotary grounds and the Moi stadium.
The ball games were officiated by Kisumu Governor, Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o in the company of CS Agriculture Hon. Peter Munya and Senator Okong’o Omogeni of Nyamira County. The categories of the games included Tug of war, Handball, Netball, Football and Volleyball for both men and women.
In the women’s category, the football Akado thrashed Mariwa 2 nil, and in Men’s, Akado won against Mariwa 2 against 1. In Volleyball, Rotary was the winner in the women’s category while in Men’s category Mariwa bagged position one against Rotary.
In netball games, Rotary emerged winners in the finals against Akado, and in handball, Rotary emerged winners in both categories as well as in Tug of War.
The closing ceremony was graced by the CEC for Education ICT and Human Capacity Development Mr. John Awiti, County Director for Youth, Junior Omondi, Director ECD Mr. Adar, Director TVETs Paschalia Auma, the Kisumu All Stars CEO Mr. Nickolas and Starlet manager Beryl.
The Inter-Vocational Training Center ball games was the first to be organized in Kisumu as part of co-curriculum activities in the syllabus. The move encourages the strengthening of the Vocational Training sector in the county.
