Kisumu Deputy Governor Dr.Mathew Owili, flagged off the County’s boys and girls football teams which are representing the County in the Nyanza North Talanta Hela football tournament.
The winner of the national event will take home kshs 5million.
Dr.Owilli advised them to take the sport seriously and give their best and fly the County’s flag highest.
“,But above all you should be disciplined and play as a team and bring that kshs 5m to Kisumu”he added.
The County’s CECM for Sports Beatrice Odongo ,her Chief Officer Timothy Kajwang’ and Sports Director Ken Otieno was present during the function.
The regional tournament will be played at Moi Stadium and Kisumu Day High School.
Talent Scouts have been deployed by the Ministry of Sports to scout for most talented players who will form the national team’s Under-19 team.
